Augmented Reality in US Education Adult Learners Case Study
How does Augmented Reality (AR) technology assist educators to become better leaders in their future roles?
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that allows computer-generated virtual imagery information to be overlaid onto a live direct or indirect real-world environment in real time. In AR the environment is real but extended with information and imagery from the system. In other words, AR bridges the gap between real and virtual in a seamless way.
“Applying information at the right time and the right place is needed to maintain efficiency in both school and business settings. AR is one technology that dramatically shifts the location and timing of education and training.” Kangdon Lee – University of Northern Colorado
This is an example post case study for anyone interested in education, technology and specifically the subject augmented reality. This is one brief study.Augmented Reality in US Education Adult Learners Case Study.
In this exercise, you will answer questions regarding the type of research undertaken and is AR an effective tool in helping the candidate school leaders.
Case Study
The case study used a quasi-experimental design survey in the southeastern United States.
The researcher surveyed 43 candidate principal students to evaluate their preparedness for using technology in their new roles.
AR was deployed in the classroom to support the student principals on the subject of law.
Right time, right place?
In this study think of any options available to the lecturers in replacing media with an AR component.
What are the possibilities using Augmented Reality (AR)?
Consider pedagogy, law, generalizability and future issues.
Hints – The author, in summary, highlighted
- the importance of training effective adult students – in this case, candidate principals.
- strong legal literacy.
What other potential problems would you expect to find in this case study?
On the other hand, what solutions can you offer?
