Industrial Maintenance Adult Education, by Palmarini, Erkoyuncu, Roy, and Torabmostaedi, (2018).  This article explored a systematic review of thirty articles over 21 years.

AR-based devices in Adult Education, by Turkan, Radkowski, Karabulut-Ilgu, Behzadan, and Chen, (2017) the belief that the empirical pilot evaluation of AR mobile applications in laboratory or on-location had potential to contribute to the learning.

AR-based applications for mobile devices from Canada by Harley, Poitras, Jarrell, Duffy, & Lajoie, (2016) used two measured questionnaire studies comparing AR with virtual and location-based settings using mobile devices.

Collaborative Learning Adults in Education – research by Cochrane, Narayan, & Antonczak, (2016) used 34 reviews, of which nine were as a co-writer.  Based on five projects from 2011 — 2015 with smartphones, they studied a framework for collaborative learning using AR.

A review of trends in AR applications from a general historical overview in India by, Vyas and Bhatt (2017) cited 19 references from 1997- 2014 review current trends and challenges.
